For this re­ason, it is pos­sible to apply for state sup­port from both the fe­deral and state go­vern­ments. The “Gui­de­line on the Gran­ting of Al­lo­wances for the Pro­mo­tion of As­sisted Re­pro­duc­tion Me­a­sures” serves as the basis for the fun­ding of fer­ti­lity tre­at­ments. This gui­de­line sti­pu­lates that only cou­ples whose main re­si­dence is in North Rhine-West­phalia and whose tre­at­ment takes place in a re­pro­duc­tion fa­ci­lity in NRW can be­nefit from the fi­nan­cial as­sis­tance. Un­mar­ried he­te­ro­se­xual cou­ples are granted be­ne­fits in the form of an ad­di­tional flat rate of 30% on cer­tain ma­ximum fun­ding amounts for the first to third tre­at­ment cycle.

The new fe­deral go­vern­ment be­lieves that child­less cou­ples and sin­gles who wish to have children should be given the op­por­tu­nity to have a child. To this end, it let it be known in its co­ali­tion agree­ment that in­vol­un­t­a­rily child­less per­sons should be better sup­ported in the fu­ture.
